If you took a stroll through downtown Lisle last summer, chances are you noticed something a little more colorful than usual. Bright, eye-catching banners lined Main Street and Burlington Avenue, transforming the area into a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and community.
This public art installation was part of a collaborative effort between Pulse Studio, the Village of Lisle – Government, and the Lisle Warhol Planning Committee. The inspiration? The Andy Warhol exhibit at the College of DuPage’s McAninch Arts Center. The goal? To bring the energy of the exhibit beyond the gallery walls and into the heart of Lisle, encouraging art lovers to explore the town’s shops, restaurants, and local landmarks after their visit.
Pulse Studio was proud to design the Warhol-themed banners, which reimagined familiar Lisle landmarks through a pop art lens. Using imagery provided by the Village, we selected photos that best captured the essence of Lisle—its charm, its community, its history—and gave them a bold, Warhol-inspired twist. The result was a series of colorful, conversation-starting visuals that turned heads and sparked curiosity.
But the celebration didn’t stop at the banners. We also designed logos and a tri-fold map to highlight participating businesses offering Warhol-themed food, drinks, events, and activities. From creatively crafted cocktails to art-inspired menu items and live performances, downtown Lisle came alive with Warhol’s influence.
This initiative was more than just a visual transformation—it was an invitation. An invitation for visitors to not only appreciate world-class art at the McAninch Arts Center but also discover the local gems that make Lisle unique.
